Chumby is an open source widget platform that will come with WiFi, a touchscreen, some USB ports, and a squeeze sensor. It’s designed to be an interactive toy or controller for something that gives you some squeezing fun.
And now the concept of Chumby has been extended to add more fun into the fish tank. It’s proposed to be attached to some hardware that sits in the fish tank, and measures the water condition to ensure your fishes stay healthy.

When you’re away, a Chumby-equipped fish tank allows you to monitor your fish on a webcam wirelessly. The Chumby will also dispense food and medication. Chumby also allows fishes in tanks equipped with Chumby to communicate with each other over the Internet. It also senses the vibrations and noises made by bubbles, which are actually the communication signals among fishes. The Chumby-equipped fish tank definitely sounds very good for fish keepers, but too bad it’s just a concept.
