The two images above are maps of the Internet, specifically the “routers” – equipment that passes data to its intended destination – and the paths between them. Think of it as the Internet’s highways and exit ramps. The maps were made by Lumeta, a tech-security company. The map on the left was made 10 years ago, and shows about 88,000 routers. The one on the right was made a couple of months ago. This time Lumeta mapped over 450,000 routers.

However, some geeky developers at University of California, Berkeley, have taken a big leap, which in fact they’ve violated the Apple’s terms and conditions, and taken the applications to the next higher level i.e. for the use to control some unmanned aircrafts.

The Nikon D700 makes full use of the D3 technologies, which features a 12.1 effective megapixel Nikon FX-format sensor, that measures only 23.9mm x 36mm and nearly the size of a 35mm film. Besides, the camera is similar to some of the latest cameras, which boasts a 3-inch screen.

And also various goodies such as Nokia’s renown 51-Point autofocus system with 3D focus tracking, active D-lighting for more contrast, Live View, GPS support, scene recognition, four-speed active dust reduction, an ISO sensitivity of 6400 (up to 25,600), compact flash card slot, HDMI out, and 5 to 8 fps full-res shooting etc.

The Nikon D700 is expected to hit Europe in July for about 1,900 Euros. We’ll probably some reactions from Nikon’s rivals pretty soon, to produce another great shooter to challenge the Nikon D700.

VISA card now comes with keypad, generates random security code

Posted by hina on November 8, 2009 under Accessories, Computer Hardware | Comments are off for this article

It was last year Innovative Card Technologies and eMue Technologies introduced the credit card that comes with its own authentication system, and now Visa Europe has rolled out their newly designed credit card which comes with similar authentication system. (VISA may have purchased those cards from the two companies)
VISA card now comes with keypad, generates random security code
The new credit card introduced by VISA comes with a keypad, and a digital number display. The card is exactly the usual size and there is also a magnetic strip that can be used with conventional card readers. At the back of the credit card, you don’t get the traditional security code number. Instead, you key your pin number on its keypad to get to generate a random security code on the digital display.

You can then enter this one-time security code while making a purchase online. This is definitely much more secure than the traditional security code, as no one could simply guess what the card has generated.
