Microsoft, makers of the most popular operating system in the world, have announced plans to provide support for Windows XP up to the year 2014. While new computers produced nowadays are shipping with Windows Vista, the successor to XP, many consumers still find themselves stuck with XP on their computers, and are perfectly satisfied with it. In fact, Vista has yet to achieve the same acceptance amongst consumers as its predecessor.

Gmail Mail Goggles – No more drunken mail sprees

The Gmail team has just added a novel feature to one of the world’s most popular online email platforms: mail goggles. The intention of this weirdly named feature? To add another layer of prevention against the accidental sending out of a poorly worded or poorly timed email.

Gmail Mail Goggles - No more drunken mail sprees

Gmail Goggles works by allowing you to specify a time when you are likely to be less alert and in control of yourself(etc drunken Friday/Saturday nights). Everytime you attempt to send an email during that time, Gmail will request that you answer a series of maths problems within a certain time limit before your mail is sent – Hopefully that helps to prevent another occurrence of the time you emailed your boss and presented an ultimatum – a raise or you quit.
