According to Electronista is some selected developers have already begun receiving the promised iPhone/touch SDK . The SDK was slated for a February release.
Described as a rough version of the SDK, the result is native programs that have farther reaching effects as compared to a web base program. Exact details of what the kit allows are unknown, though it is confirmed that it produces native programs and somewhat resembles Google’s OpenSocial in that it mediates between the programmer and the iPhone operating system.
Although treated as a welcome development, the SDK will not be the same as writing a Mac OS X application and has its clear limits, people familiar with the matter say. These details are unavailable, though the features are broad enough that at least one major social networking site is reportedly interested what the native platform can offer versus existing web code. The group of companies has only received its development tools within the past two weeks and is allegedly unable to provide a timetable for when finished software will be ready, though it should be well ahead of the community at large, which only receives the SDK in February.

indians will no longer need to illegally buy, unlock and then use the most-desired item on gadget lovers’ lists — the Apple iPhone. Its much-awaited and delayed India launch is expected with telecom operator Vodafone in the first week of September.
Initially the 8 GB version of the much-hyped touchscreen device — which combines Wi-Fi capabilities with a powerful email client, TV feeds, online music store and map-based location guide — will be launched at a price ranging between Rs 27,200 and Rs 28,000. Based on buyer response, the launch of the 16 GB version will be staggered to the middle of 2009.

“Post launch in India, the iPhone can be ‘unlocked’ (or configured to use SIM cards from all telecom carriers), though the company is not fully open to such a possibility,” the source said.
The real signs of ‘iFatigue’ in India over the long wait for the iPhone are evident on Internet chat forums where users debate thorny issues like how to unlock the iPhone without losing call quality, free open source hacker kits like AppTapp, the best unlock deals at the right price, and quick bargains in the grey market.

The best part of a BlackBerry is its full-fledged QWERTY, which is so handy for typing messages using your two thumbs. If you’re an iPhone user, you get only the touchscreen version of QWERTY, which lacks of the actual feel and tactile feedback of a physical QWERTY of a BlackBerry.

Thanks to the iTwinge keyboard, which you can now use it to turn your iPhone into a BlackBerry-like device, presenting you a full QWERTY to ease your messaging on the iPhone.
The iTwinge QWERTY costs you only $30. It simply slips into the bottom of the iPhone, to let your iPhone have a full-fledged QWERTY. The iTwinge works both for the iPhone 3G and 3GS versions, which is what you need if you’re a heavy texter but wish to stick to using the iPhone.
