Phone 3G has just hit the stores for a few days only. But it’s found that it can be easily unlocked using the old SIM card method.

The iPhone 3G shown in the picture, doesn’t show the original carrier, AT&T, which it’s supposed to be locked for. Instead, it shows another carrier, which means it’s been freed from the AT&T’s lock. The method of unlocking the iPhone 3G falls back to the old SIM card method, which uses of a SIM card adapter that works exactly like unlocking the first-gen iPhone.
The mentioned iPhone 3G has successfully been unlocked by some Brazilian guys. And one of them has made a brief statement: “Our procedure consist in using one SIM adapter to simulate a fake IMSI test card. Instead of the AT&T IMSI like in the universals.” The method forges the International Mobile Subscriber Identity, deceiving the phone that it’s working in the network in which it’s supposed to work. I believe a couple of the SIM card adapters that we’ve shown to you before might be able to unlock the iPhone 3G as well. Take a look at the video how the unlock process is carried out below.

Things have changed. Sunlights are now used to make ice instead of being used to melt the ice. A prototyped solar icemaker has been created by a team of engineering students from San Jose State University.
The solar icemaker is an eco-friendly device, which has zero carbon footprint. And some more it doesn’t need electricity to keep the ice cool, which is super handy for places like a developing country or disaster zone where electricity is unreachable.

The solar-powered ice maker uses a refrigerant liquid which evaporates when exposed to the sun. The vapor then travels through pipes that come into contact with an absorbent material which cools when the sun goes down. When this absorbent material reaches the 104°F, the refrigerant turns back into a liquid, which its temperature then drops below the freezing point due to pressure difference. When some water is added to the exterior of the evaporator, then ice will form.
The solar ice maker needs no electricity, uses only solar energy to produce ice and it has no moving parts. It’s capable of making 14 pounds of ice per day, which is more than enough for average Joe during their hot summer’s barbecue session.
The device is definitely a super handy one for those remote areas which are always exposed to the hot sun, and where those people desperately want some ice to cook themselves down. Currently, it’s still a prototype of the engineering students. Hope they could get it ready by next summer.

Sony Ericsson G series are made to help busy city dwellers to organize their daily life better. The G series are built with convenient organizer and Internet access, which is what a busy city geek needs for getting his life in pace.
The flagship phone of the G series is the Sony Ericsson G900 and it’s been given a review by PhoneArena despite the phone still has some bugs and problems with its firmware and hardware. The SE G900 is based on the Symbian UIQ without making it too hard to use. It offers intuitive work and the OS gives it a better organizing options.

The G900 is similar to the earlier model, G700, in the G line, which is also equipped with a touchscreen which allows you to write or draw notes on. The SE G900 comes with a high-res camera of 5 megapixel and supports WiFi, which seems to imitate the latest digital camera technologies that allow you to shoot quality photos, upload and share it on the Internet.
The package includes great accessories such as handsfree, charger, data cable, additional stylus, software CD, and manual etc. The SE G900 boasts a super slim body which measures only 0.5 inch for its slimness. Some more it’s super lightweight, making it pretty easy to be carried around in a pocket. The touchscreen is 2.4 inch wide and has a resolution of 240×320 pixels. The color it offers seems pale but it’s still kind of usable even under direct sunlight. The touch sensitivity is great but the touch feedback is only available in sound but no vibration, which isn’t convenient when used under noisy environment.
It comes with a pretty short stylus, but it seems giving no much problem as the touchscreen of this cellphone is meant more for inputting text via handwriting recognition, and not for navigation. You’ll get navigational buttons are under the touchscreen, surrounding the 5-way D-pad and are used for going back, delete and shortcuts to the functions important for the model – writing of notes and message.

BlackBerry Pearl Flip, also known as Kickstart Clamshell, had come to our attention early in May. And now it’s got official. But disappointingly, it’s got no 3G high-speed data support. But you’ll find WiFi, a 2-megapixel camera and a full-on document editor on this first flip phone of RIM.
This flip phone will debut on T-mobile sometime in spring this year but the pricing details is still unknown. The Pearl Flip measures 3.9 x 1.9 x 0.7-inch, which is thinker than the original Pearl that measures only 0.57 inches in thickness. But the Pearl Flip presents a relatively compact look.

The Pearl flip carries an external display and an internal display that has a resolution of 240 x 320-pixel. And the SureType keypad lies exactly beneath the internal screen. As mentioned this flip phone can reach EDGE which has no 3G support, so you can only do simple emailing and Internet browsing on this phone. Heavy download tasks and streaming video will need you for a long wait.
The Pearl flip’s WiFi comes with UMA support, which might mean the phone is compatible with T-mobile’s HotSpot @Home Wi-Fi voice calling. GPS support seems to have no luck on the Pearl Flip, as the press release says that the Pearl lets you connect to a GPS receiver via Bluetooth. Meaning that it’ll have no built-in GPS module.
To elaborate more about the full-on document editor – it’s an editor that allows you to edit Office documents (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc) on the go. Other goodies are a video/music player, an “enhanced” HTML browser, 2 MP camera that’s capable of video, voice commands and microSD memory expansion up to 16GB.
