After the slotMusic, SanDisk has introduced another new idea for the music industry, which is a little device, called slotRadio that brings the convenience for some lazy butts who just want casual music like tuning to the radio, without needing to deal with music playlist manager.

slotRadio is just about the size of an iPod Shuffle. It carries a price tag of $99.99 and preloaded with 1,000 songs (on microSD card) drawn from decades worth of Billboard chart toppers. Or your get additional microSD cards which each pre-loaded with 1,000 songs that only costs $39.99 each. Seven add-on cards will be available at start.

Each song costs as little as 4 cents on a card or 10 cents for those come with the player. Songs are protected by DRM that locks it to slotRadio cards. You can’t select what song you wanna play at a given moment. Songs are sorted in a variety of channels, with each having over a hundred songs. You’re still able to skip a song if you don’t like it and go to next one. But you’re not able to repeatedly play the same song.

The slotRadio is a very simple device that comes equipped with a monochrome screen which at least gives you some idea what you’re playing now. And it’s equipped with volume controls and a skip button. The device gets recharged via USB port, comes included with standard earbuds.
