Mimi Switch is a new kind of remote control that relies on your facial expression to control your gadgets. The idea is you can stick you tongue out when you feel like you wanna start or stop the music on your iPod.
The Mimi Switch remote control comes in the form of an earbud, which contains various infrared sensors that are able to measure the movements of inner ear resulted by various facial expressions. This little weird remote control was invented by Kazuhiro Taniguchi of Osaka University, who loves the idea of sticking out the tongue to get the iPod to start playing music.
Besides, the Mimi Switch can be used to monitor your facial expressions whether they’ve reached the appropriate levels of cheerfulness to qualify you as one of the most cheerful geeks. The device is able to detect that if you’re smiling enough, then it’ll likely play a cheerful song to sing along.
