Intel to bring quad-core CPUs to laptops next month
Following the craze of the processor core race, users have been speculating about the possibility of shifting focus from just desktops to some more portable, say laptop to begin with. Just next month, Intel projects to release its first quad-core processor for laptops to the market.

“We’re bringing quad-core to mobile in August,” said Sujan Kamran, regional marketing manager for client platforms at Intel in Singapore. Kamran declined to disclose specifics of the quad-core chip, which will carry Intel’s Core 2 Extreme moniker.
However, right now very little PC software is designed to take advantage of multiple cores hence there is not much boost in user experience to expect. Yet many are keeping their hands crossed to see what price tag it will be coming along with its initial release to the market.
