iPhone 3G easily gets unlocked using the SIM card adapter

Phone 3G has just hit the stores for a few days only. But it’s found that it can be easily unlocked using the old SIM card method.

The iPhone 3G shown in the picture, doesn’t show the original carrier, AT&T, which it’s supposed to be locked for. Instead, it shows another carrier, which means it’s been freed from the AT&T’s lock. The method of unlocking the iPhone 3G falls back to the old SIM card method, which uses of a SIM card adapter that works exactly like unlocking the first-gen iPhone.

The mentioned iPhone 3G has successfully been unlocked by some Brazilian guys. And one of them has made a brief statement: “Our procedure consist in using one SIM adapter to simulate a fake IMSI test card. Instead of the AT&T IMSI like in the universals.” The method forges the International Mobile Subscriber Identity, deceiving the phone that it’s working in the network in which it’s supposed to work. I believe a couple of the SIM card adapters that we’ve shown to you before might be able to unlock the iPhone 3G as well. Take a look at the video how the unlock process is carried out below.
