Samsung E200 Eco green phone comes in everything green

Samsung has showcased a green phone at the at the OR@S (Olympic Rendezvous @ Samsung) in Beijing. The phone is made of lots of green materials, such as the case is made of bio plastic, and it comes in green color.

The Samsung E200 Eco cellphone is an ultra slim beast, which measures only 9.9mm for its thinness. The materials that make up this cellphone is extremely friendly to the environment. As mentioned the external case is made of bio plastic, which contains materials extracted from natural plant such as corn. Besides, the use of the bio-plastic also produces less chemical waste, the carbon dioxide in the manufacturin process. 1 ton of the bio-plastic used in manufacturing the Samsung E200 cellphone reduces 2.16-ton of CO2 compared with Polycarbonate produced from petroleum.

Other than that, the E200 cellphone also comes in a package that is made of green material. It’s packaged in a non-coated recycled paper box, which is also deemed environment-friendly. This new Samsung cellphone definitely shows the great effort from Samsung to go green, to help save the world from being destroyed by chemical waste one day.

Another two eco-friendly cellphones from Samsung, which we’ve seen, the W510 and the F268, were also showcased at the Green Zone during the Olympic games. The Samsung W510 also has its case made of bio plastic, materials that are extracted from corn. And no heavy metals used in manufacturing the W510.

The Samsung F268 is the first BFR / PVC free mobile phone. BFRs (Brominated Flame Retardant) is deemed to cause contamination to the environment in recent study, although it’s been used for decades in making consumer products. The Samsung F268 comes with all the accessories all made of materials that are free from BFR. The product complies to the Energy Star specs. If you’re an eco guy, the few Samsung green phones shall line up as your next cellphone of choice.
